Thank You
to everyone who participated in the workshops on Saturday; for your willingness to abandon your expectations and open yourselves to possibilities.
We examined how not giving our right brain the opportunity for expression can totally block us causing huge amounts of stress and we experienced how easy it can be to let that all go by playing.
"I've got a bag of sand at home that I can put my feet in"It doesn't have to be complicated or make sense to be highly effective. In fact it's our rational left brain that complicates things. Our right brain can't lie because it doesn't use language. It just wants to do what feels good. Our left brain needs to understand the reason for everything so can't cope with this.
Thanks to everyone's left brain for allowing the right brain a time for expression.
When it doesn't get what it needs our right brain can behave like a demanding toddler, preventing us from doing anything else. we can try and quiet it by vegging out in front of the TV, drinking or eating huge amounts of chocolate but this type of sedation doesn't work.
Quite small pieces of time allowing our right brain what it needs can vastly increase our sense of peace and our creativity since the toddler is satisfied. A well nurtured right brain actively feeds our left brain ultimately increasing our productivity.
Taking the pressure off ourselves by letting go of expectations can allow us to move forward "In my art class I feel under pressure but I broke through my own barriers. I just freeze up there when we have to do anything abstract"
