What if...

Play is GOOOD For You!

Playing makes us feel happy, if nothing else, that's a good thing.

It can relieve stress which in turn improves our relationships at home and work.
Feeling less stress increases our creativity and often our productivity too.

However, there is a growing body of recent scientific evidence which shows that by playing without goals; immersing ourselves in the process we can actually reprogramme our brain by using the same exploratory experiences that early childhood provided us.

If you're habitually pessimistic for example, process rather than goal driven play can enable you to begin to balance this (this is an example, I'm not suggesting you should).
Playing for process rather than goals and allowing ourselves to become absorbed in what we are doing right now (rather than being absorbed in the outcome of what I'm doing right now) has been demonstrated to stimulate the development of new synapses within the brain. This causes healing to occur.
Process oriented play has been shown to heal stroke survivors, people with traumatic brain injury and adults who suffered from neglect or abuse as children.

Think what it can do for you...  anyone can benefit from the healing effects of play.

We all know that we use very little of our brains and we also all know that most of what goes on in most of our heads is chatter and repetition; what if playing enables you to gain more useful access to more of your brain... what if it increases your creativity, happiness levels, potential and possibilities?
What if...
